DEREK LAM Navy Blue Silk Two Piece Asymmetrical Bias Cut Dress
Fabulous Side Cut Vee top with draping in the back
Simple slimline Skirt with Elastic Waistband
Derek Lam was back on familiar ground for Spring:
All-American sportswear with a languid attitude informed by his native California.
A few days before his show, he explained that his dual inspirations
were Coco Chanel in Venice circa 1940 and Venice Beach in 2010.
"I've been trying to understand what makes her, more than anyone, look so contemporary," Lam said.
"I think it's because she always looked natural."
With that as his mandate, Lam designed easy dresses & two-piece dressing with elastic waists
Derek Lam struck gold this season with a clean, sharp collection of urban sportswear
that looked to the American West for inspiration.
For Spring, he headed further in the same direction, to his home state of California, to be exact.
The clothes were still mostly minimal, but in a more relaxed silhouette.
Here is a Navy Blue 2-Pc 100% Silk Crepe Dress that is cut on a Bias with an asymmetrical neckline.
